Newton Pippin Apple Tree
Newton Pippin Apple Tree
A true American heirloom, the Newton Pippin is prized for its bright, balanced flavor and exceptional storage quality. This late-season apple starts tart and complex, then sweetens beautifully after a few weeks in storage — making it ideal for fresh eating, pies, and cider.
Originally discovered in the 1700s, it became one of the first American apples exported overseas and remains a favorite among orchardists who value depth of flavor and long keeping ability.
Harvest: Late season (October)
Best For: Fresh eating, baking, cider, storage
Pollination: Requires a compatible pollinator
Zones: 5–8
Plant a tree with history — and enjoy apples that only improve with time.
