Indian Blood Peach Tree

Indian Blood Peach Tree

The Indian Blood Peach Tree is a striking heirloom variety known for its deep red flesh, rich flavor, and beautiful late-season fruit. The peaches develop dark red skin and vibrant crimson interiors, offering a bold, sweet-tart taste that intensifies when cooked.

This traditional Southern variety has been grown for generations and is especially prized for making preserves, cobblers, and homemade wine. While firmer and more tart than many modern peaches when eaten fresh, the flavor becomes wonderfully rich and aromatic when baked or processed.

In spring, the tree produces lovely pink blossoms before setting its distinctive late-summer harvest.

Harvest: Late season (August–September)
Fruit Type: Freestone
Flavor: Sweet-tart with deep, wine-like notes
Best For: Baking, preserves, canning, wine
Pollination: Self-fertile
USDA Zones: 5–8

If you’re looking for a unique heirloom peach with dramatic color and rich culinary flavor, the Indian Blood Peach Tree is a memorable addition to any orchard.
