Blue Pearmain Apple Tree
Blue Pearmain Apple Tree
The Blue Pearmain is a beautiful New England heirloom known for its deep red skin with a distinctive bluish bloom and rich, aromatic flavor. Sweet with balanced acidity and a hint of spice, this variety is excellent for fresh eating and traditional baking.
Dating back to the 1700s, Blue Pearmain has long been valued for its dependable harvests and old-fashioned apple flavor. The fruit develops its characteristic dusty-blue cast as it ripens, giving it a unique, antique look straight from the tree.
Harvest: Mid to late season (September–October)
Best For: Fresh eating, baking, cider
Pollination: Requires a compatible pollinator
Zones: 4–8
If you’re looking to plant a classic American heirloom with character, color, and depth of flavor, Blue Pearmain is a standout addition to any orchard.
